Philanthropy

Kappa Kappa Gamma has embarked on a philanthropic purpose to support mental health and well-being. We are committed to helping those we serve understand, value, and embrace the role mental well-being plays in reaching their fullest potential.

We are fortunate to partner with dedicated local organizations that share our philanthropic focus and strengthen our impact within the community. As these relationships continue to grow, our members can look forward to even more meaningful opportunities to support mental health and well-being initiatives.

The Beta Xi Scholarship of Kappa Kappa Gamma is open to Beta Xi Actives and Alumnae to assist with their education.

Applications for the Beta Xi Scholarship are due in the Spring for the following academic year

To apply or learn more, please email Katie Hudson kkgbetaxischolarship@gmail.com.

Donations are welcome year-round via our fund through the Austin Community Foundation.

Holiday Sharing

Our Association proudly supports the  Rose McGill Holiday Sharing Program, which is a family support system for current and former Rose McGill Confidential Aid recipients. Each year, we are matched with two members in need, allowing us to provide resources, assistance and support.

We embrace the opportunity to brighten their season by sharing gift cards and thoughtful tokens of care, ensuring they feel supported and remembered during the holidays.

Kappa Kaladiums

By selling caladiums, we are able to fundraise for scholarships and worthy causes, like disaster relief and mental health support. Kappa Kaladiums takes place each spring and bulbs are available for pickup before Mother’s Day.

If you purchased caladiums, we’d love to see your photos! Email us at AustinAreaKappas@gmail.com.

Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation empowers Kappas to pursue life’s opportunities by supporting impactful programs that enrich the member experience. Through scholarships, financial assistance grants, leadership and educational initiatives, and the preservation of Kappa’s history and heritage, the Foundation helps members thrive at every stage of life.

Most recently, the Foundation provided a grant to support Talkspace, expanding access to mental health resources for Kappa members. This partnership offers complimentary services for collegiate members and discounted access for alumnae, reinforcing Kappa’s commitment to member well-being.

Kappa Settings

Since its inception in 1997, Kappa Settings, our bi-annual fundraising event, has raised more than $400,000 and benefitted 25 local charities. The next Kappa Settings will take place in April 2028

More Kappa Settings info here.

Rose McGill Fund

The Rose McGill Fund originated at the 1922 Convention to provide for a young Kappa, Rose McGill, Toronto, who was ill and in need of support. Kappas can apply for and receive need-based financial assistance during challenging situations.

For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Austin Alumnae Association set up a fund to benefit Texas Kappas living in need of support. Since March 2020, we have raised almost $7,000 and have given 25 grants to 23 Kappa sisters from Texas.

Kappas are welcome to make tax-deductible contributions to the fund and increase this available support for Texas Kappas in need.
