FAQs
Who can join the Austin Area Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association?
1
Any initiated member of Kappa Kappa Gamma in good standing is welcome to join, regardless of where or when you went to college. Whether you are a recent graduate, a long-time Austin resident, or newly relocated to the area, we invite you to participate in our local network.
How do I pay my annual Austin Area Kappas dues, and what do they cover?
2
You can pay annual membership dues directly through our website. Dues support local alumnae operations, chapter philanthropy, collegiate support for nearby chapters (such as Beta Xi at UT Austin and Epsilon Rho at Texas A&M), and access to members-only events, interest groups (Book Club, Mahjong, Tennis), and our electronic directory.
Do I have to attend every event to be an active member?
3
Not at all. Participation is completely flexible. Members are welcome to join us as often as their schedules allow—whether that means attending monthly interest groups, participating in signature annual events, or simply staying connected through our newsletters and directory.
How do I submit a reference letter (RIF) for potential new members at UT Austin or Texas A&M?
4
While reference forms must be submitted directly by an initiated Kappa alumna, local PNMs and parents can reach out through our Contact page to connect with area alumnae who can provide guidance on the recruitment reference process.
Can the Austin Alumnae Association help me find an alumna to write a reference for my daughter or student?
5
Alumnae can submit online reference forms and letters of recommendation for PNMs through the national Kappa Kappa Gamma portal or via our local chapter recruitment resources. Check our Recruitment page for specific deadlines and local submission guidelines ahead of formal fall recruitment.
Kappa Settings is our signature biennial designer showcase celebrating table design, entertaining, and local artistry. The event raises vital funds for local Austin nonprofits and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. Members can get involved by attending, sponsoring, volunteering, or submitting design concepts.
What is Kappa Settings, and how can I get involved?
6
Our association supports local Austin-area non-profits and national philanthropies through fundraising events like Kappa Settings and Kappas on the Kourt, as well as direct volunteer initiatives throughout the year.
